sleep is the one of the most important activity in your life. but strangely it is ignored and taken for granted by most people.
if you cannot sleep deeply then you cannot give your 100 percent on next day. so thats why sleeping time is the most productive time of your day.
when you get up in morning after a good night sleep. then you are not only charged but you also feel good from within. this also leads to better creativity, good immunity and enhanced physical and mental well being.
how to make your sleep better:
1. right eating habits
a) don’t eat your dinner just before going to sleep. because it takes time for body to digest food. so always eat 2-3 hours before sleep.
b) eat which does not upset your stomach. the food should be healthy and nutritious.
c) cut down on caffeine intake. its good to have tea in morning to wake up. but avoid having tea or specially coffee on later half of day.
d) eat freshly cooked food. avoid having cold or stale food. lastly never over eat. eat in moderation.
2. sleeping room should support sleep
a) its always best to sleep in a dark room. darker the room, more deeper will be your sleep. however many people are scared of darkness or sleeping in dark room. so if you don’t feel comfortable in darkness then adjust the light in your room accordingly.
b. sleep on a good mattress. avoid uneven mattress.
c) don’t use your bedroom for watching TV or surfing internet or for mental activities. use the bedroom for sleeping or relaxation. as over a period of time, the relaxing energy of the room will support sleep.
d) having soothing photographs in the bedroom. the color of room walls should also be relaxing.
3. get in touch with god before sleeping
(this makes the quality of your sleep spiritual. your dreams will be more about spiritual world and god. it will also help you to let go).
a) you can pray to god or remember him deeply.
b) you can practice meditation or do mantra chanting.
c) read some spiritual books or listen to some spiritual discourse.
d) get connected with your inner self.
4. prepare your body and mind for sleep
(basically your body should be in need of rest so you need to do some physical exercise like yoga, swimming, walking, jogging etc in day time. your mind should be tension free and not filled with too much thoughts.)
a) don’t take your problems to bed room.
b) don’t worry too much. instead just let go and leave everything on god while going to bed.
c) play some soothing or relaxing music.

5. live a life style which supports good sleep
a) work hard in day time. be tired, so that when you hit bed, you immediately feel asleep. but never exhaust yourself physically as sometimes you don’t get sleep when you are too tired.
b) live an ethical life and don’t cheat anyone. otherwise you will feel guilty and it will disturb your sleep.
c) don’t hurt anybody. don’t do anything which leaves a bitter feeling in your heart.
d) don’t watch violent or scary movies as they will disturb your mind for a long time. similarly don’t read such news also.
e) don’t upset your body clock by following irregular sleeping time or waking time. try to go to bed at same time.
