7 Lifestyle changes to stop overthinking | How to stop overthinking

once in a while, we all succumb to overthinking. in modern time, mind rules the world. we have become more mind oriented. we think more and feel less. we hardly use our physical bodies as compared to our grand parents.

there are too many options for everything. e.g. hundreds of channels in TV, thousands of good websites and ebooks in the internet, endless social media updates in your facebook wall and so on. if all this does not make your mind active then to add to it, there is so much psychic noise in the world.

sometimes, i wonder where the world is heading for? if so much technology in your life has not brought peace and contentment then its a clear indication that somewhere something has gone totally wrong.

we must become more easy going, relaxed and close to nature. we all need to relax our mind and give it a break for sometime. if we do so then over a period of time mind will not be so overactive and over worked.

7 lifestyle changes to stop over thinking:

1. choose the right job
go for a job which does not make you overworked mentally and it does not lead to mental exhaustion.

2. home with a relaxed surrounding
go for a home which is close to garden or beach or has lot of greenery. there should not be much noise and pollution in the locality. choose a serene and peaceful locality which automatically relaxes you and calms down your nerves.

3. vacation – take a break
every few months take break from your job and go for vacation to release the piled up stress and tension in your life. its the best time to get connected with mother earth and the nature. go to a place which is close to beach or nature or forest or at least away from mad rush of the cities. choose a place where you can be yourself. where you don’t need to pretend or where you can just relax and unwind the mind.

4. include yoga, meditation or spirituality in your life
include any spiritual activity in your life which makes you relax and connects you with your higher self. something which makes you think about higher perspective of life. many times you just need to have a bigger picture in mind. that is to look at the life from a larger perspective. find meaning in life. don’t just live for making money. find purpose and meaning in your life. be more creative and more heart oriented.

5. switch to healthy eating
eat lot of fresh fruits, salads, green leafy vegetables and drink enough water to quench your thirst. if your body is healthy then the mind will also perform well. remember, in a healthy body, resides the healthy mind.

6. cut down your time on social media
too much reading, thinking and watching videos is not good for mental health. many times people just pass time in internet. doing so, they end up reading unnecessary information. so avoid adding data in your head which is not needed.

7. don’t stay ideal
when ever you are free then get involve in something positive or constructive. it helps a lot to have a hobby or to do something which gives you joy. or you can participate in a community service or become volunteer for a NGO.
