all children are born mystics. they carry many spiritual or god likes qualities with them. so if you want to learn something worth while, then spend time with small children who are still not spoiled by society and education. because as they grow up they start losing them.
eight spiritual qualities to learn from small children:
1. totality
whatever they do, they give their 100% to it. they never do anything half hearted. being total in your work is a spiritual quality.
2. living in present moment
they are not worried about the past or present. they just want to enjoy the present moment to its fullest. they live life spontaneously. enjoying life moment by moment.
3. exploring
they are naturally inquisitive and adventurous. they want to know and explore things. they ask very innocent question which at times are difficult to answer. a spiritual person is always learning and is curious about life.
4. non-judgement
they don’t judge people based upon their caste, religion, color of skin or based upon their bank balance. they are totally non-judgmental in their approach. however, if you offer them sweets or chocolate then they will be more friendly to you !!!
5. love
they don’t talk about love, they just love. their love is so pure that it can just melt the heart of anybody. when they love you, they are total in their love. but don’t forget when they hate you then they are total in their hatred also. but the hatred does not last long as they are innocent and does not keep any malice in their heart. thats why they are able to love you with their totality in the very next moment.
6. innocence
thats one quality which becomes more rare in human beings as you grow up. its difficult to retain innocence in this cruel and clever world. but it is one of the most important and essential spiritual quality, if you want to get enlightened.
7. openness
they are friendly and open to everybody. their heart are not closed.
8. sleep
if you can sleep deeply then half of your life problem won’t exist. the sleep of small children is very deep.
so its good to spend time with small children so that some of these qualities rub on you. with them you can be yourself because they don’t judge you.
