How to stop absorbing others feelings, emotions and energy

many times we absorb other people emotions, energy or thoughts.
it happens with everyone but very few of us are observant or sensitive enough to notice this.

it often happens that you meet someone, spend time with that person
and a certain feeling or desire catches hold of you and stays with you,
god knows for how long !!!

have you ever observed, strange fears, emotions or phobias entering into your mind
and becoming part of your life ???
if yes, then the reason for this strange behavior is mentioned below:

why you absorb others feelings, emotions or energy:

1. if you meet a person or go to a place which is powerfully charged with a particular emotion/energy
or come across a intense emotion to which you can relate or you start getting identified
then you will unconsciously pick up that emotion/energy and it will become part of your energy system.

2. as long as you are identifying with that emotion, it will not only become part of your system
but the intensity of emotion will grow. the reason is by getting identifying/relating you are nourishing the emotion
and also giving energy to it to grow.

3. even if you don’t get identified with other person emotion, there is always a interaction at auric level or at etheric body.
our etheric body interacts and there is always a exchange of energy when two people meet.
you not only pick up energy from other people but also from place you visit.
the furniture, walls, clothes, books… everything is charged with a particular vibration
and unknowingly you pickup that energy.

4. another reason for absorbing others energy/emotions is the weak aura.
you need to strengthen your aura and keep it healthy.

how to stop absorbing others feelings, emotions and energy

1. if you remain indifferent or detached or unidentified then you will not pick up any emotion from others.
and to release the emotion from your system, you have to stop relating it with yourself.
most of the time, you start visualizing yourself in the other person situation… feeling empathy
don’t do it. you have to stop relating yourself with other problem/issue.

but it is very common for us to do it.
e.g. you meet a friend and you find him in distress then you also feel sadness for him
on the contrary, if your loved one is doing well and then you also rejoice in his/her well being and success.
this is because you are getting connected or becoming one with other person emotions.
so you are also feeling the same emotion which your friend is going through.

2. its the law of getting related with other person emotions or energy.
the solution to this is to help the person but don’t get emotionally involved.
in meditation we call it ‘being a witness’
witnessing is the art of staying detached from your thoughts and emotions
the whole art of meditation can be summarized in one word that is witnessing
in meditation we say, don’t get identified with your emotions and just be a passive watcher.

3. when any negative emotion is strong and comes to your mind
then just exhale strongly keeping the focus on the negative emotion.
exhale strongly 20-30 times or until the emotion is flushed completely.
don’t overdo it. do it as per your physical strength.
if this method suits you, then you can explore pranayam (ancient indian breathing techniques)

4. go to a place which is positively charged.
so as to pick up positive energy as well as to change your mood.
mind is always fluctuating, the trick is to divert its attention to something new.

5. to remove the others energy from your system, you can do the following:
a) when you come home, immediately take a head shower. if you are using a bucket for taking bath then put one small bowl of sea salt (preferably) or common salt into it. sea salt removes the negative energy from our aura.
b) wear the fresh clothes and keep the old clothes for washing.
c) the moment you realize that you are getting influenced by a negative emotion then leave that place immediately
and instead move to a place which is less crowded… so that your aura can expand.
d) you can go close to trees and hug them or spend some sitting/standing under them (preferably close to their trunk)
e) if you can find flowing river or sea then it is best. flowing water always removes the negativity from our system and clean us.
f) burning a strong incense, sage (herb) or camphor also helps.

bonus tip: always try to be in the present moment. our mind is either stuck in the past or moving into future but it never stays in this present moment. learn to retain your attention in the present moment and doing things consciously.
